That 1 Thing

What’s holding you back from reaching your fitness goals? You know what it is. Get rid of it and replace it.

You know, the thing you hold tightly with a clenched fist. Funny thing is, it’s that 1 thing that is holding you back that really isn’t of much value to your health and well-being.

You want to look better, feel better, have more energy and confidence, but you’re unwilling to give it up.

Maybe there are multiple things you won’t give up, or think you don’t need to give up because they aren’t the issue.

Maybe you’re in denial. Maybe your’re in reality and you just aren’t ready to quit it or give it up.

Sacrifice is difficult. Giving things up we love is hard. You know…things like:

Extra sleep

Going to be earlier

Stopping drinking

Not eating out


Shopping…..The list could go on.

Saying no

We more often than not project our problems onto other things or people.

“If my spouse supported me more, they always eat junk so I eat junk.”

“I can’t afford it, but I can afford eating out, vacations, new shoes, partying..ect.” -You must have forgot, we follow each other on Instagram and Facebook. I see it all. We’re all adults, I think we can agree that we spend money on what is important to us. One needs to look no further than one’s bank account.

“I’m just too busy right now.” -Not too busy to do all the other important things. Remember when you said your health was a 10 on a scale of 1-10 of importance. Everyone is busy. Everyone. We live in the USA.

“I’ve tried everything and nothing works.”

Living in reality is difficult when you create your own fantasy in order to justify your actions and outcome. Quitting then becomes convenient after you’ve fed yourself lies.

The cycle will only repeat itself in the future if it isn’t dealt with and new habits are formed.

This may seem harsh, but it’s the truth for everyone, in all aspects of life. If it’s really important to you, you make sacrifices for it.

You give things up because that thing is more important than the other thing. That one thing you need to give up is most likely that thing holding you back.

The great thing is, you have already made sacrifices and discipline in other areas of your life. You go to work, cook food for your kids, do laundry, go to kids sports events…ect. You don’t always feel like doing these things, but you do them anyways.

You can apply that same discipline to your health. Trust me.
