Have you ever said or thought this :”I’m just not motivated,” or “I need to find some motivation!” We all have a time or two.
Do we really need more motivation or do we need dedication & discipline?

Motivation seems to be a feeling we conjure up to get us excited about something. These feelings aren’t a bad thing, but they don’t seem to stick around for very long.
One minute you can be fired up and the next you’ve decided it’s not the right time or you’ll wait. This happens all the time with new leads inquiring about the gym. People will fill out consult forms and decide within minutes that they aren’t interested.
I once overheard a group of members complaining they weren’t motivated & that they needed another 6-week challenge to get them motivated again. One of these women had lost 11lb a few months prior.
It made me wonder why so quickly the fire had burnt out. A goal was accomplished and literally, she was ready to quit and she did.
Why the quick burnout after success? It’s a worthwhile question.
We need small wins, new goals, and accountability to stick with our fitness and nutrition, but at some point, we have to take responsibility for ourselves.
Motivation is a feeling and a word that gets tossed around far too often. Discipline, dedication to your health, and personal responsibility are really what people need.
You won’t always be motivated, but you can develop habits that lead to a disciplined life. Enjoy the feelings of motivation and strike while the iron is hot! Just don’t depend on those feelings, they tend to change moment to moment.
You may find the motivation after you take action.
