Do It Anyways

Think of 3 fitness goals you would like to achieve. Get as specific as possible.

Now, examine why these are important to you. Dig deep. How do you want to look and feel? Why is this important to you? Take 3-5 minutes and write this down. Be gut-wrenchingly honest.

So, what’s stopping you from getting there? Make a list of your top 3 reasons as to why you haven’t started pursuing your goals or why you’ve quit in the past.

  1. Everyone’s lists are the same.
  2. Your situation feels unique, but it’s not. But But…you just don’t understand. Believe me, I do. I’ve heard the same reasons for a decade. Some people use these reasons to quit, while others seem to just persevere no matter what.
  3. You’re the biggest obstacle in your life. Overcoming you, is the biggest step you’ll take towards success.

There’s a phrase I love to live by and it’s this: “Do it anyway.” The things in life that are your responsibility, you do it when you don’t feel like it, because if you don’t, there are real-life consequences.

If you don’t go to work you get fired.

If you don’t pay your bills you lose things.

If you pay for help with your fitness & health, you’ll pay more later.

Don’t feel like working out? Do it anyway. Don’t feel like waking up? Do it anyway. Don’t feel like _______. You can fill in the blank on many things.

Doing things you don’t feel like doing is one of, if not the most important things you’ll do on a daily basis that will tip the scales in your favor over time.
